Dental health is a crucial part of our overall health and well-being. Poor oral hygiene can cause tooth cavities and gum diseases, which can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

A 35-year-old female visited our clinic a few months ago with a few decayed and loosened teeth and asked our support to fix them. While made a discussion with her, she revealed that she was encountering intense pain in her teeth. Additionally, she had bad breath, which stopped her from communicating socially with her friends and other people. It is a common consequence of gum disease. And she added that she was noticing teeth mobility and was not able to chew or eat foods properly.

So, we started doing a diagnosis to identify the exact problem of her dental issue. With our dental assessment, we found that she had receding gums and plaque buildup. Then, we discovered through x-rays that she had gum infections, which caused her teeth to become loose.

Due to the severity of the gum infection, we found that no treatment options would be appropriate for her. Therefore, we decided to remove the existing teeth and replace them with implants.

Initially, the patient did not agree. Dr Kanagasabapathy explained the seriousness of her issues and the requirement of dental implants. Then he gave her a comprehensive explanation about her infections in gum tissues worsen, lead to bone loss, which causes the teeth to become loose and fall out, and shrink the gums.

The combination of shrinking gums, missing teeth will have a negative impact on a patient’s appearance, making her look old.

Once she came to know about the benefits of dental implants, she got confident and agreed.

We started the procedure with pre-surgical assessments, such as a comprehensive examination of the gum condition using x-rays to secure implants.

Moreover, we did a professional dental cleaning method to treat her gums by performing tooth scaling and root planing to remove tartar buildup and bacterial infection from the gums and allow proper healing.

The process of implanting artificial teeth was started during the next visit. After removing all loose teeth, the titanium posts were inserted in the jaw bone to begin the process of implanting artificial teeth. Once the metal post was inserted in the jawbone, we placed temporary dentures to cover the gap.

The inserted posts usually take several months to connect with the jawbone. The healing process is a period of time that varies for each patient based on their condition.

Once the healing process was complete, we used a realistic-looking denture set to replace the temporary prosthesis.

To avoid further dental problems, we strongly advise the patient to practice good oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and using mouthwashes, as well as to schedule regular dental checkups. Simply, we asked her to take care of the implant teeth as well as her natural teeth.

Now she is no longer having any pain or discomfort and is able to enjoy eating her favorite foods.

Our primary goal at Lakshme dental hospital is to help achieve the best, perfect smile for people of all age groups.
